2023 Trash-Off Information and P&Z Vacancy

City of Blanco's Trash-Off 2023 Information

The City of Blanco will also be hosting its Trash-Off event in conjunction with Keep Blanco Beautiful’s April 1 event. The City Street Yard located at 455 Jones Avenue will be open on the following dates/times: Friday, March 31, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The City’s Trash-Off is a"rain or shine" event and is open only to Blanco City Residents. A voucher will be required and can be picked up at City Hall, 300 Pecan Street; citizens must show proof of residency to pick up a voucher. The vouchers are good for two loads and these can be either two truck beds or truck and trailer loads. Citizens must present the voucher before entry at the City Yard. The City reserves the right to refuse any load that may be harmful or unsafe to persons or property, and is not responsible for any accidents, or damage, to personal property while participating in the Trash-Off event.

Items NOT accepted:
Paint or chemicals
Tires of any size
Carcasses of ANY kind
Household garbage

P&Z Vacancy

The Planning and Zoning (P&Z) Commission has a vacancy. P&Z serves as an advisory capacity to the City Council. The City of Blanco Unified Development Code states the “Planning and Zoning Commission's authority extends to and includes review and recommendation of the following:

  • Comprehensive Plan Amendment
  • Unified Development Code Text Amendment
  • Zoning Map Amendment
  • Historic District Designation
  • Special Use Permit
  • Concept Plan
  • Preliminary Plat
  • Final Plat
  • Development Agreement
  • Variance Request
  • Dedication of land and community facilities."

P&Z meets on the first Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. and consists of seven members who serve a two-year term. Citizens interested in joining P&Z should fill out an application which can be found on the City’s website or contact Laurie Cassidy, City Secretary, (citysec@cityofblancotx.gov) for more information.
